“This is a sweet retelling that is very faithful to both the regency era setting and the fairytale roots of the story. The magic is woven in very deftly and the romance kind of sneaks up on you. It is easy to forget it is a magical tale until the magic gets mischievous.”

“I feel like sometimes the retellings can become a bit much from authors all the time, but this was a unique version that drew me in very well. Nash really reimagines the characters into some awesome and fun to read scenes that are original feeling to me.”

“As a fan of both the Jean Cocteau and Disney films of Beauty and the Beast, I really like the unique elements Byrd has incorporated in her version. In particular, I loved how the three sisters all got along with each other, and all insisted on staying together at Thorn Hall. This was a refreshing change from the dreary isolation for the love interest and/or the spoiled (or nonexistent) siblings from the film versions. There is a good amount of humor and fairy magic, and the romance is sweet and satisfying.”
