Wow! So my announcement for beta readers of Price of a Rose (my Beauty and Beast retelling) got a HUGE response. Over 30 of you requested to be a beta reader. That’s a bit much for me to juggle so what I will do is those not selected for beta reading will have an opportunity to receive an ARC (Advance Reader Copy) of a Price of a Rose when available in mid-January.

Right now the story is off to a new editor. I think she will be a great fit for this series and push the story to a higher level. Remember, beta readers you are seeing the draft before the recommended edits come back 😉

Beta Readers are reading a rough, final draft. You may find typos or minor things I will be changing. However, you can leave comments for whatever you personally would like to do. If you want to typo-hunt and be a grammer-Nazi go for it. If you only want to read and enjoy, that is fine!

At this point I have a mix of readers who all like to do different things when they provide feedback and that is great! I will be responding back to comments after the Christmas holiday.

What Beta Readers do:

  • Read the story on the Beta Book App (check your email for a link).
  • Provide any feedback you like (that can be simply what you enjoyed about the story).
  • Complete the book by Jan 10th.
  • Buy the book at 99 cents now as a pre-order or at the time it releases Feb 10th.
  • Post a review on Amazon on Feb. 10th which is the launch date.
  • If you don’t want to review on Amazon, I also accept reviews on Bookbub, Goodreads, Kobo, Barnes and Noble, and Apple.

Beta Readers who don’t leave some sort of feedback will be removed from the pool. All it takes is an email to me if you can’t do it or would want a renewed link.

ARC reading is less intense and this may suit your schedule much better.

What ARC readers do:

  • Download the story via BookFunnel to your favorite reading device.
  • Complete the book in 30 days.

I’ll be sending out an email after Christmas to those who have applied and let you know which group you are currently in. If you are a Beta Reader who would rather be an ARC reader, drop me an email and I will get that changed. If you can’t do either, no problem, let me know and I will remove your email as a contact.

Remember! If you choose to post a review on Amazon, use the phrase “I received this book as an ARC” or “I received this book for free but am voluntarily reviewing.” If you write that you received it in exchange for a review that is against Amazon’s policies.

It’s a busy time for us all, so take care and realize that worrying won’t solve problems, but chocolate can make you feel better.
